If you are looking for an enchanting ceremony location with a reception offsite, consider Olguita’s Garden or Swan House Gardens for your elopement, vow renewal, or wedding ceremony only.  Our Smaller Wedding option is perfect for those intimate weddings of less than 60 guests that want to have the reception here as well.

Elopement and Vow Renewal

The Elopement and Vow Renewal packages are for up to twenty people including wedding couple, officiant, and photographer. The rental period is for up to four hours. For more than twenty people, or if additional time is needed, please see our Ceremony Only package below. Elopements and Vow Renewals may be booked up to three months in advance. Elopements and Vow Renewals may not be held on the Swan House fountain side lawn.  The Boxwood Porch can serve as a weather plan. Please review our Elopement Brochure for more information.

Ceremony Only

The Ceremony Only rental period is for up to four hours, additional time is $300 per hour. They may be booked up to six months in advance. Ceremony Only bookings are at our discretion – they must be on a date that we do not believe we could sell the full property at time of booking.  Ceremony Only includes the Draper Room in McElreath Hall as a weather backup for up to 150 guests.  The Grand Overlook ballroom will serve as a weather backup for over 151 guests.

Smaller Wedding

Enjoy the elegance of the Swan House Gardens for your ceremony with an intimate reception in the Draper Room in McElreath Hall. Both the cascading fountain and column side of the Swan House work beautifully for ceremonies of any size and the Boxwood Garden is great for ceremonies up to about 60.  For those who enjoy flowers, Olguita’s Garden, set just behind the Atlanta History Museum, is a splendid location.

Guidelines for Elopement, Vow Renewal, and Ceremony Only

  • The Swan House is a historic house museum.  We do not allow events, changing, waiting, food, or beverage inside.
  • There are no restrooms available in the Swan Gardens for events. Guests may use the restrooms in McElreath Hall.
  • Food and beverage service along with cakes or snacks are not permitted. The only drink allowed to be offered is bottled water.  This can be brought in or supplied by the History Center for an additional fee.
  • Ceremony musicians, DJ, microphone, gift table, and décor are permitted and must be setup and removed within your contracted timeframe.
  • Most Elopements and Vow Renewals do not rent furniture, but you may if you wish.  If tables or chairs are rented, they must be setup and removed within your contracted timeframe by a licensed and insured rental company. Family and guests are not permitted to setup and breakdown furniture.
