  • Virtual Event

Join Leah Lefkowitz, Manuscript Archivist, and Dr. Alfred Willis, Architectural Historian and Consultant, for a Zoom webinar on Saturday, August 31, at 10:30 AM.

In this presentation, “Documenting Changes to Buildings and Neighborhoods Over Time,” we will use recently processed collections, the City of Atlanta Department of City Planning records and the Atlanta Urban Design Commission records and photos digitized from the Atlanta Urban Design Commission visual arts materials, as well as other AHC materials, to demonstrate how track changes to neighborhoods and properties over time. And Dr. Willis will discuss his work in Greenville, South Carolina, and Valdosta, Georgia, researching environmental, streetscape, and demographic changes to neighborhoods and buildings.

This is the third webinar in a series planned in conjunction with funds awarded by the National Historic Publications and Records Commission to process collections that document populations and land use in and around Atlanta.
