In this program students will learn about the four seasons, what grows during each season, and how the weather changes throughout the year!
Students will enjoy a lesson on seasons, weather, and plants that includes counting activities, story time and discussion, and creating their own science experiment. This lesson is a cross curricular lesson and includes elements of math, science, and literature.
- Students will color, cut out, and put together a garden themed number map.
- The presenter will then have story time with students and read Four Seasons Make a Year
- After story time students will get to participate in a science experiment by “planting” a seed on a damp paper towel in a baggie.

- 1st grade—S1E1. Obtain, evaluate, and communicate weather data to identify weather patterns. S1L1. Obtain, evaluate, and communicate information about the basic needs of plants and animals.
20 students maximum per presentation
45 minutes or 1 class period
Presentations are available to non-Title I schools for $100, and Title I schools for $50. The mileage cost is determined by the roundtrip mileage from Atlanta History Center to your location at $0.67 a mile. Presentations are ONLY available within a 100-mile roundtrip from Atlanta History Center.
